Kyosuke's KOR Page

Kimagure Orange Road, began as a manga in the Weekly Shonen Jump from 1984 to 1988. In 1985, a pilot tv was made for the series. After the studio approved the pilot, production began for the TV series. 48 Episodes tv series appeared one year before the manga was finished (1987 to 1988). Soon after the tv series followed a Mogitate special, 2 Movies (Ano hi ni kaeritai & Shin KOR), Hour long Flashback (Ep 49), and 8 oavs.

The first episode aired on April 6, 1987. We meet the main character, Kasuga Kyosuke, who had just moved into a new town with his family of ESPers (excluding his father). The episode starts off with Kyosuke walking up a flight of stairs. He encountered a flying UFO (which turned out to be a red hat) and a mysterious girl. He caught the red hat before it flew away. He then continued up the stairs and counted 100 steps. 100? 99! Kyosuke then says there is 99.5 steps. They both laugh at the thought of 99.5 steps. As Madoka leaves, he introduces himself to her and says she can have her hat back. She tells him "Keep it! It looks good on you". Later that day in school, He met another girl (Hiyama Hikaru) during a fight. Madoka intervened and fought everyone off. After the fight she attempted to light a cigarette. Kyosuke used his ESP powers to burn out the cigarette and crush it. Trying to be a hero, he told Ayukawa that she wouldn't have healthy babies if she continued smoking. In return, Madoka gave him a good slap in the face!

If you are just discovering KOR for the first time, congrats! You won't be dissapointed in this dramatic yet funny series. Kyosuke and his family try to keep their powers a secret from everyone, even the girl he loves.
